Non-Profit Organization Helping Children with Hair Loss
Our Mission: Many children live their lives without hair due to medical reasons such as cancer treatments, alopecia, lupus, trichotillomania, hydrocephalus and head burns—and many families can’t afford a wig for their child. Our mission is simple: to put smiles back on the faces of kids going through medical hair loss.
Helping Our Kids: Our kids are on a waiting list to receive wigs through donations from our supporters, whether it’s financial, gently-used wigs, or ponytails. You can sponsor a child and get them off the waiting list. Andrew DiSimone, owner of HairPlaceNYC, one of New York’s premier hair and wig salons, sponsors this special program.
Our Affiliate: We proudly partner with Children With Hair Loss™, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. While there are other organizations doing similar work, Children With Hair Loss is our only official affiliate. Free Wigs for Kids is a not-for-profit organization providing wigs for children and young adults experiencing medical hair loss. While we are not a 501(c)(3), we never take any profit—not even to cover operating expenses.
Our goal is to improve the lives and self-confidence of as many children as possible by having them look and feel like themselves and be kids again. You wouldn’t believe the smile on a child’s face when they put on a wig for the very first time.
